New Year's Eve

For New Year's Eve 2024, North Sydney Council will manage three un-ticketed vantage points. For safety reasons, entry to these sites will close once they reach capacity.

• Bradfield Park (incorporating Mary Booth Reserve)
  • Capacity: 16,000 attendees
  • Opening: 9.30am to 12.30am
  • Facilities: Accessible toilets, food outlets, BYO food allowed, water stations
  • Nearest stations: Milsons Point, North Sydney, Victoria Cross Metro
  • Restrictions: No glass, drones, camping, pets, busking equipment, sharp objects, alcohol, or re-entry once full.
     
• Blues Point Reserve (incorporating Henry Lawson Reserve)
  • Capacity: 8,000 attendees
  • Opening: 9am to 12.30am
  • Facilities: Accessible toilets, food outlets, BYO food allowed, water stations
  • Nearest stations: North Sydney, Victoria Cross Metro
  • Restrictions: No glass, drones, camping, pets, busking equipment, sharp objects, alcohol, or re-entry once full.
     
• Lavender Bay Parklands (incorporating Watt, Clark, and Quibaree Parks)
  • Capacity: 3,000 attendees
  • Opening: 9am to12.30am
  • Facilities: Accessible toilets (Clark Park only), food outlets, BYO food allowed, water stations
  • Nearest Stations: North Sydney, Victoria Cross Metro
  • Restrictions: No glass, drones, camping, pets, busking equipment, sharp objects, alcohol, or re-entry once full.

Inside each managed-access event zone, there will be portable toilets, water stations, food outlets, and first aid. BYO picnics and soft drinks are permitted; however, all sites are alcohol-free. For everyone’s safety, visitors and residents cannot enter managed sites once they are full.

To stay hydrated during the event, we encourage you to bring an empty reusable water bottle (non-glass). Plastic water bottles will not be sold on-site, but water stations will be available for refills.

Non-managed sites

Foreshore parks, including Waverton Park, Cremorne Point, and St Peters Park, will remain open to the public without managed access. Alcohol is prohibited. Portable toilets, additional bins, and police presence will be in place to ensure safety.
 

Other Council areas

• Balls Head Point: Closed for the event - managed by security and Bushcare team.
   

Adverse weather

If there are bushfire warnings for the Sydney metropolitan area, certain areas will close to the public. Notices will be placed at the entrances to these reserves.
