Eligibility criteria
- The nominee must be an Australian citizen.
- While the nominee does not have to reside in the North Sydney LGA, they need to have made a significant and positive contribution to the North Sydney LGA community.
- The nominee's contribution must have been made in 2024; however, this does not exclude cumulative prior years of contribution eg volunteer recognised for 20 years achievement, retired 2024.
- Nominees for the Next Generation Award must be aged 24 and under on 31 December 2024.
- Previous award recipients cannot be nominated.
- Self-nominations cannot be accepted.
- Present Council staff, Councillors and their family members can nominate others, but cannot themselves be nominated.
Judging
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor of North Sydney Council, as well as the Community Awards Committee, are responsible for judging the nominations and awarding winners in each category.
The North Sydney Community Awards will be presented to individuals and groups at a special awards ceremony. Details to be announced.
