Christopher Holding

I made my home in Cremorne, with my wife and two daughters, more than a decade ago.

In 2016 I helped re-establish and co-chair Brightmore Precinct which is a resident run community group affiliated with North Sydney Council. While volunteering, I was able to assist, and respond to, a number of local development and community-raised issues.

After five years in that role I turned my attention to some specific projects, working with the Cremorne Conservation Group and North Sydney Council, on a successful campaign to gain State heritage listing for the Cremorne Orpheum Cinema - and also heritage listing a number of nearby workers cottages.

I’m passionate about keeping local independent voices in North Sydney and ensuring that State Government projects, and developers, deliver better housing and urban design, with proper green space for our community.

Prior to moving to Cremorne, I lived and worked in Hong Kong and London as a Producer (content creator) for media companies like Star TV, the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.

I’d like to encourage the creative community in North Sydney – in all spheres – drama, art, music, comedy, dance and nightlife!

When time allows I’m an occasional cyclist & swimmer, and an avid traveller.
