Berry Island Reserve is one of North Sydney's most delightful and significant areas of harbourside bushland. This small, almost circular, peninsula in Wollstonecraft is linked to the mainland by a wide grassed causeway. There are superb views of the harbour and the city from this picturesque reserve.
Reserve features:
- open lawn causeway that is a popular venue for picnics and special events
- BBQs, picnic areas, seats, a small beach and an adventurous playground
- the Gadyan Track, a 20-minute bushwalk that interprets Berry Island's Aboriginal history
- public toilets and a water fountain
Playground features:
- fenced on three sides with steep rockface enclosing the fourth side
- equipment suitable for adventurous, older children is along the back, and more junior equipment is in the northern side of the space
- nearby picnic tables and BBQs
Dogs are welcome in the Reserve but must be kept on a leash in bushland areas. They are not permitted within 10 metres of the playground.

- Getting there and parking
- Located at the southern end of Shirley Road, Wollstonecraft, Berry Island Reserve is a 10-minute walk from Wollstonecraft railway station. Limited on-street parking is available on Shirley Road.
