Hear Dr Ian Hoskins and State Library of NSW Curator Sarah Morley discuss the inspiration and impact of author and illustrator May Gibbs.

May Gibbs was Australia’s first female cartoonist, and her gumnut baby strip Bib and Bub first appeared in the Sunday News on 3 August 1924. Bib and Bub was published until 1967 – when its creator was 90 years old – making it one of the nation’s longest running cartoon strips.

This informative talk is held to celebrate the centennary of May Gibbs' enduring legacy.
