Looking to keep your kids entertained during the holidays? Bring them to the Coal Loader for free, fun and educational workshops for children aged 6–10 years (and their parents!).

Join us on Monday 15 July, 11am to 12pm for 'Box City' as your kids will dive into a city-building adventure! They roll up their sleeves to craft a mini city using recycled materials, blending teamwork and solo creativity. Our awesome educators highlight eco-friendly building tricks, planting the seed of environmental sustainability in young minds. We avoid glue and tape in this workshop, which challenges kids to think of more complex ways to build - tying materials together or using simple joinery techniques like slots and tabs.

This hands-on workshop encourages children to think creatively about everyday items, teaching them how to see the potential for art in objects that might otherwise be discarded. It's all about turning trash into treasure and having a blast while doing it!

Don't miss this chance for your little eco warriors to learn, create, and contribute to a more sustainable world.

Can't make it on the day? Do not fear, Box City will be open in the Genia McCaffrey from Monday 15 July to Wednesday 17 July. You can drop in anytime between 9am and 4pm and join in the big city building fun! Just come along, stay for as long as you like, and contribute to the masterpiece.

A guardian must accompany each child.
