Over two fun and colour-filled days, this workshop will focus on the basketry technique of coiling to create vessels and wearables.
Using a simple stitching method, we will be working with a variety of materials including wool and fabric offcuts to make a vessel and explore how the coiling technique can be used to make jewellery.
This workshop also introduces the process of hand-making cordage (or string) using a hand-twisting technique. A deceptively simple process with infinite possibilities, participants will be introduced to and work with a variety of materials including fabric offcuts to make cordage that can be used in combination with other materials to make a piece of jewellery such as a necklace, bracelet, earrings or brooch or used for a coiled vessel.
