Have you ever pondered how the nature has inspired musical compositions by Australian composers? Join us for a very special afternoon at The Independent Theatre on Saturday 20th July 4pm.

Sydney-based pianists Jihyeon Lim and Melody Tsz Ching Chung will team up to present a captivating 4-hand piano duet concert, featuring a programme that echos the amazing gifts of nature composed by renowned Australian composers.

This concert programme celebrates not only the wonders of nature, most importantly the compositions of some of the esteemed contemporary Australian composers, including Sydney-born Ross Edwards, currently Sydney-based James Madsens, Melbourne-based Stuart Greenbaem, Brisbane-based Robert Davidson and some of the iconic figures of Australian music, for instance, Miriam Hyde and Percy Grainger.

About the Artists

Jihyeon Lim and Melody Tsz Ching Chung had their successful debut as a 4-hand piano duet in early 2021. Lim and Chung showcased two extensive programmes of Australian duet works, and self-organised 3 public concerts between February to June in 2021. They were proud recipients of funds of the Play the City program Round 1 and 2, generously sponsored by Create NSW in hosting the concert series. Lim and Chung have co-performed duet works by other Australian composers, including Carl Vine, Elena Kats-Chernin, John Carmichael, Diana Blom, Linda Kouvaras and Houston Dunleavy.
