Overview
Public access to all of Council's parks is free.
They can be hired for a special event, such as a wedding ceremony, birthday party or a family reunion. There are many demands on our parks for these special events, particularly during spring and summer.
Bookings on our parklands are only required if there are 60 or more people attending the gathering.
Bookings are required if an amusement or animal farm is present, regardless of the number of people in the group.
Bookings are required for all groups at Wendy's Secret Garden at Lavender Bay, regardless of group size.
A permit is not required:
- if the number of people attending the gathering is less than 60 for passive parks or less than 30 for bushland reserves*
- if the purpose of the gathering is for taking wedding photographs*
* Excludes Wendy’s Secret Garden.
Please note: no events are permitted in our public parks or spaces if the gathering is on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day or Australia Day.
