In accordance with clause 29(5)(c) of the NSW Heritage Act 1977, notice is hereby given that North Sydney Council revoked Interim Heritage Order No. 1/2023 on 24 July 2023, which was published in the NSW Government Gazette on 4 August 2023 and took effect from this date. The Interim Heritage Order applies to the dwellings located at 53 and 55 Yeo Street, Cremorne which are legally known as Lots 39 and 40 DP 2989.

Council first made Interim Heritage Order No. 1/2023 on 22 February 2023, which was published in the NSW Government Gazette on 24 February 2023 and took effect from this date.

The Interim Heritage Order is a temporary measure that prevents the demolition of the buildings on the subject land and enables Council to undertake a detailed heritage assessment of the property and determine if it should be listed as a Heritage Item under North Sydney Local Environmental Plan 2013.

At its meeting of 24 July 2023, Council considered a detailed heritage assessment which concluded that the two properties did not adequately meet the heritage threshold criteria to be identified as local heritage items under Council’s Local Environmental Plan.  Council subsequently resolved to revoke the Interim Heritage Order.

A copy of the order can be found on the NSW Legislation website.
