North Sydney Council was last week announced as a finalist for three NSW Local Government Excellence Awards.
The awards celebrate outstanding achievements and promote innovation and continuous improvement within NSW local government.
We are thrilled to be finalists for the following awards this year:
- Community Partnerships category: for Building Bridges to Boorowa – an urban/rural partnership project to rehabilitate farming land in south-west NSW. Our volunteers have planted more than 65,000 native plants since the project began 25 years ago.
- Environmental Leadership category: for The Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability – an example of sustainable design and technology and a living classroom for our local and regional community, to help them take up their own sustainability initiatives.
- People, Workplace, Wellbeing category: for our workforce review and realignment project, which aimed to ensure Council can best allocate our resources to areas of need.
Winners of the awards will be announced on 6 June.
