New defibrillators and CPR training sessions

Six new public access defibrillators are being installed across key parks in the area and we are also offering CPR training sessions for the community.

These vital life-saving devices will be available in Anderson Park, Cammeray Park, Forsyth Park, Primrose Park, St Leonard’s Park, and Waverton Park in the coming weeks.

The new installations complement the existing defibrillators at Council sites, ensuring that help is always close by in an emergency.

In conjunction with this initiative, North Sydney Council is offering CPR training sessions for the community, recognising the importance of equipping residents with essential life-saving skills. The CPR courses will be delivered by the Australian Lifesaving Academy NSW and are open to the public for a fee of $75.

The CPR courses will be held at the Council Chambers, with two sessions available:

Each session has a limited capacity of 25 participants, so early registration is encouraged.

How to register:

  1. Create a USI (Unique Student Identifier) if you don’t already have one.
  2. Complete the online form to register your spot.
  3. Council will email you a link to complete your course payment.
  4. Arrive at Ros Crichton Pavilion, adjacent to the top car park at Council Chambers, by 9.55am on your selected date, ready to learn this life-saving skill.

These training sessions are part of a broader campaign by North Sydney Council to raise awareness of CPR skills and the importance of defibrillators in public spaces.

The defibrillators installed in North Sydney’s parks are weather-resistant, damage-resistant, and theft-resistant, ensuring they remain accessible and operational when needed most. This investment in public health and safety underscores the Council's proactive approach to community wellbeing.
