When parking in the North Sydney LGA, there are now three options you can choose from when paying. Parking meters, Touch N Gos and the PayStay app.
Rates and demand areas
Parking meter rates vary, depending on the time of the day and the location’s parking demand.
Daytime metered parking hours are 8.30am to 6pm and evening metered parking hours are from 6pm to midnight.
Data gathered from regular traffic studies and parking surveys have enabled Council to determine three Parking Demand Areas within the parking meter zones. The Parking Demand Areas are:

High: North Sydney CBD and Alfred Street South (Fitzroy Street to the Harbour Bridge)

Medium: North Sydney CBD shoulder area – Crows Nest, St Leonards, Milsons Point and Kirribilli areas.

Low: Fringe areas.

Parking for periods of less than one hour will be charged at a pro rata rate.
Please note - paying for parking via a Touch N Go or the PayStay app will incur an 8.25% surcharge.

Our area has 114 parking meters and 177 Touch N Go boxes.

Fees apply to some parking meters on public holidays.
Regulations and guidelines - street signs
Street signs take priority over parking information displayed on meters and PayStay - for example, Special Event Clearways, construction work zones, and road closures.
Before paying for parking, check nearby parking signs to confirm parking hours and restrictions.
