Free Child Car Seat Safety Checks
North Sydney Council, in partnership with Transport for NSW, has a limited number of free appointments available for residents to have their child car seats, harnesses and booster seats checked and installed by an authorised restraint fitter.
This program is available only to residents of the North Sydney Council area. If you do not live in the North Sydney Council area, you are not eligible for this program.

Registrations to receive a free voucher to have your car seat fitted are now open.
Before registering, please refer to the Terms and Conditions below to confirm you are eligible.
What happens after you register?
- You will receive a confirmation email at the address you registered with.
- Your “voucher” number is the Reference Code provided in that email.
- The email will also include instructions on how to make a booking with the car seat fitter.
- Vouchers can only be used at Quixspede Child Restraint Fitting, North Sydney
Please note:
Vouchers have an 8-week expiry date from the date of registration.
There are limited number of vouchers available.
Terms and Conditions
Prior to registering, please read the following terms and conditions to confirm your eligibility:
- Available only to North Sydney residents and ratepayers.
- One appointment is available per household, with up to three seats being checked or fitted in one vehicle.
- Appointments are limited and subject to availability and funding.
- Family day care providers are not eligible under this program.
- The “voucher” is only redeemable at Quixspede Child Restraint Fitting, North Sydney.
- Additional parts and accessories required at the time of inspection are not covered and will be charged to the person having the child car seat(s) or restraint(s) checked.
- The program is open until all available appointments with the fitter have been filled.
