View current out of hours works approved by Council

The following works are scheduled to take place outside of approved construction hours.

Council only approves work outside approved construction hours in specific circumstances. Examples include overnight shop fit-outs or where demolition, excavation or erection of structures may be a risk to public safety during daylight hours.

Approved hours of work

The approved hours of work for a specific development site are contained in the Development Consent.

You can view the Development Consent for each site via our application tracker.

Please note, we are not the only authority who can approve out of hours works. There may be additional approved works we are not aware of (for emergencies, water works etc).

Third parties, such as utility companies and state departments, do not have to notify Council of emergency works.

Location:
Ben Boyd Road

Works:
Kerb and gutter reconstruction, asphalt works, concrete pavers, footpath works and turf laying.

Work dates:
Works will commence on Thursday 4 June 2026 and are scheduled to be completed within two (2) weeks, weather and other factors permitting.

Belmont Lane, Wollstonecraft

Location:
Belmont Lane, Wollstonecraft – between Shirley Road and Belmont Avenue.

Works:
Stairway repairs being undertaken by Civil Landscaping Pty Ltd

Work dates:
Works will take place from Tuesday 9 June 2026 for approximately one week, weather permitting.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 7am–5pm and Saturday 8am–2pm.

Traffic and parking impacts:
Parking within the vicinity of the work site will be unavailable during the works. Residents and businesses are requested to move all vehicles from areas indicated by barricades and special work zone signage. No vehicles will be permitted to park in these areas during the works. Vehicles left in the work zone may delay completion of the project and prolong the loss of parking spaces.

All efforts will be made to minimise disruption and complete the works as quickly and safely as possible. Council appreciates your cooperation and patience.

Berry Street and Walker Street intersection, North Sydney

Location:
Berry Street and Walker Street intersection, North Sydney (footpath and adjacent lanes).

Works:
Investigation of pits and conduits, including clearing blocked conduits. Works will involve the use of a vacuum truck, with activity on the roadway while the footpath remains open but in use.

Work dates:
Works will take place on Friday 19 June 2026, between 8pm and 5am, weather permitting. These works are scheduled outside standard construction hours.

Walker Street, Spring Street and Berry Street, North Sydney

Location:
Walker Street, Spring Street and Berry Street, North Sydney CBD (including closure of Spring Street between Walker Street and Little Spring Street).

Works:
Footpath and road restoration wall works as part of the North Sydney CBD restoration project. This will include a temporary road closure on Spring Street and removal of parking within the work zone.

Work dates:
Works will commence on Wednesday 17 June 2026, occurring Monday to Friday between 7am and 5pm, and Saturday between 8am and 2pm, for approximately 2 weeks, weather permitting.
Spring Street will be closed between Walker Street and Little Spring Street on Saturday 27 June and Sunday 28 June 2026.
