This project is part of the corridor walk from Badangi Reserve to Balls Head, Waverton, next to HMAS Waterhen.
The project includes derelict planter boxes that were built in an industrial style decades ago. Most of them contain mature trees and could not be demolished without being replaced to protect the roots of the trees. Sandstone retaining structures now replace the brick planters and volunteers have weeded and replanted the areas surrounding the trees.
Continuous improvement is taking place, particularly at south end where Waverton Green (opposite Wood Street) is being planted and maintained by local Streets Alive participants.
